I have always enjoyed plant-based milks. Naturally, when I heard about oatmilk, I was curious to try it. I was super pleased with its delicious, rich flavor. Oatmilk usually fits into my day as a mid-morning snack. I often have a glass of Planet Oat Original Oatmilk by itself or with coffee. Today, I will share with you my iced mocha oatmilk recipe and I hope you enjoy this refreshing pick me up as much as I do!
Before I go any further, you may be wondering, “What is Oatmilk?”
Oatmilk is a beverage that is made from oats, as you may have guessed! It starts with oats and water and it has a rich creaminess. To me it tastes a lot like oatmeal, only it is cool and refreshing. I like that Planet Oat Oatmilk is an excellent source of calcium and vitamin A & D, has no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, is non-GMO, and has 2g of soluble fiber. Oatmilk is a plant-based milk alternative. It is dairy free and vegan. It is also soy free, gluten free, tree nut free and peanut free in case you are wondering!
Refreshing Iced Mocha Oatmilk Recipe
You won’t believe how easy it is to make this iced mocha oatmilk recipe! We are talking a delicious coffee shop style treat in just a few minutes.
I used to work at Starbucks so I know how to make a coffee drink! An iced mocha should be made with espresso- 1 shot for a tall, 2 shots for a grande or venti. So keep that in mind when making this recipe. You can, however, choose to substitute iced coffee if you prefer and it will come out just as tasty as long as you adjust the proportions to be more ice coffee than oat milk since coffee is not as concentrated as espresso.
An iced mocha also requires a good chocolate syrup. I use a homemade version that is easy to make but you are welcome to use a store-bought chocolate syrup. For my homemade chocolate syrup, I used 3 tablespoons powdered cocoa, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of boiled water.
